I am taking part in RideLondon 2023 (a 100 mile cycle event - https://www.ridelondon.co.uk/our-rides/ridelondon-essex-100) on Sunday 28 May 2023 to raise money for a Share Community, a fantastic charity that is very close to home (they are in fact based on the street on which I live!)

Everyone starts from a different point in life and Share Community ("Share") helps change the lives of those with difficulties.

Share is a leading provider of specialist training and support services for adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and mental health needs and the first time I visited one of their sites, I was struck by just how isolated many of their students might have been
without their support. 

While there, I saw groups of students learning to cook, taking part in an art sessions and one class was even setting off to visit a local National Trust Property (and when i arrived home that evening there was a National Trust thank you card waiting for me). These were just a few of the many activities that were going on at Share that day! 

Whenever Share hosts events locally, the students are always fully involved and I often see them heading out to Clapham Common for an afternoon game of football. Time and time again I’ve witnessed how they really do help adults with learning disabilities live life to the full and so I’m hoping to raise as much sponsorship as possible, in order to help Share to continue providing their vital services . 

For 50 years, their committed teams have helped people enjoy more choice and independence, and live happier, healthier lives. They work from three sites in south London – in Clapham Junction, Tooting and Brixton.

Disabled people often experience discrimination, stigma, exclusion, and loneliness. They may struggle to access quality healthcare, find
employment, or enjoy a social life, which leads to poorer health and wellbeing. They support people to develop the skills and confidence needed to live the lives they want. Share believe that everybody has the right to fair treatment, and their vision is a world in which disabled people are equally valued and included.

I appreciate that at this time of year that it can feel like you are inundated with requests to sponsor people, and so anything you can spare would be much appreciated and make a massive difference to a fantastic cause.
