Dancing 9-5 · 20 April 2020

The National Emergencies Trust (NET) is launching a fundraising appeal to help those most affected by the recent coronavirus outbreak.

Story

I have recently been furloughed from work due to the coronavirus, meaning I have a lot more time on my hands. In an effort to help local communities deal with the crisis I am raising money for the National Emergencies Trust, by dedicating a day I would have otherwise been working to a non-stop danceathon!

I will be dancing not stop, 9am till 5pm on Monday 20th April. I will play Just Dance, as well as switching it up with my own choice of music. I will aim to stream the whole thing live on YouTube - so you can tune in and enjoy my terrible dancing. It would be amazing if you could sponsor me, so that we can help get vital funds to local charities and communities in need.

If you want to watch, I'll be streaming on this link from 9am Monday 20th! https://youtu.be/S52Iq2y7ujk

The Rules:

- I will keep moving at all times, even between songs, and whilst taking drink and snack breaks.

- I will not leave the dance floor (aka the conservatory) between 9am and 5pm, except for toilet breaks and to refill my drink.

- Toilet breaks will be no longer than 3 minutes, and water refills will be no longer than 1 minute.

About the National Emergencies Trust

The world is in a state of emergency. The outbreak of coronavirus is affecting both businesses and people from across the globe. The Government is doing everything it can to alleviate some of this pressure. However, at times like this, its the strength and desire to help from the public that can make the most difference. We will work collaboratively with a wide range of organisations to ensure the maximum amount of money is raised and distributed securely, effectively, and fairly to those organisations and local charities who can do the most to help those in need. In time, we will report back on how the money raised was spent, and work collaboratively with others in the sector to share best practices and improve our nations emergency response over time. With your support, and help from our partners, well get through the impact caused by coronavirus, together.
