Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Make sure you don't leave without donating. Now read on.
Having worked hard as a Royal Navy anaesthetist to help our troops survive initial wounding out in both current theatres of conflict, I feel they deserve the best care possible back in the UK. This ride is about achieving first class rehabilitation facilities now and in the future. The members of all three armed forces who are injured on active service are doing our elected government's bidding without question and with great bravery. Time for us to do our bit for these individuals.
The distance is ~350miles (view details at www.helpforheroes.org.uk), and training is going well. During my recent Afghanistan deployment, myself and another BBBR rider raised over a £1000 during a gruelling 120km exercise bike ride (the base to the airport was the distance) in 25kg body armour and 30degrees heat outside the canteen in Camp Bastion. That kind of effort is nothing compared to what our injured troops have to achieve recovering from their severe injuries.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Help for Heroes will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. If you're a 40% taxpayer you can enter the donation on your tax return for even more benefit.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
