Auchterarder Running Festive 100 miles Challenge - December 2020 · 1 December 2020

The centre provides support for children, families, young people and vulnerable adults from across Portsmouth and the surrounding area. It provides a day nursery, managed and supported housing and a range of advice and support services, life skills training and a holiday play scheme. We also provide the only supervised and supported child contact service in Portsmouth where children can remain in contact with parents and family members with whom they don’t live.

Story

Olly and I have decided to take part in the Auchterarder 100 mile challenge in December, we will both be running 100 miles each.

However, to make this slightly trickier for ourselves and knowing that Christmas is around the corner, we will complete this by the 23rd of December, giving us 23 days to run the 100 miles, or 161km. Just under 4.5 miles per day without taking any rest days.

We know this time of year is very costly for everyone and know that not everyone will be able to spare anything especially with the year that 2020 has bought us all. However if you can share some hard earned pennies to help others in need at Christmas we will be extremely grateful. We are therefore setting a fairly modest target of £250.00 to
fundraise.

Our charity of choice is the Roberts Centre, a local charity in Portsmouth who help families and children in need, following this year and that Christmas will be hard for many this year we are hoping we can make some families lives a little easier.

The EC Roberts Centre is a unique child focused Charity in Portsmouth with a range of services offering support and assistance to families in addressing their situation of homelessness or dealing with the issues of relationship breakdown.
