Story
We are Brownies in the 4th Stotfold Brownies unit and we are doing a litter pick in the local parks to raise money and awareness for BBC Children in Need.
Girl guiding is important to us because we are given safe, welcoming girl only space to try new things and help other people. We are given the opportunity to discover passions and talents and have adventures while having fun with a group of friends. Girl Guides empowers and motivates girls in a positive way to make a positive difference to our community. They ensure that each girl can get involved no matter what their background or ability.
We want to raise funds for BBC Children in Need because they support special projects for children and children's charities in Britain. This helps improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people around the UK especially with the cost of living crisis. We have chosen litter picking as our way of supporting our charity and our community. This is because we feel so strongly about the amount of litter in our environment which is bad for our wildlife, children and our planet in general. This is why we have decided to litter pick in the local park areas and near the rivers. This is going to be difficult for us as we are very busy with school and clubs but we are aiming to litter pick to the point we fill as many bags as possible! We will be taking lots of photographs and posting to Social Media to keep everyone updated as to where we are at.
Please, please, please dig deep for such an important cause, to help with our passion to save our planet and to help disadvantaged children in need.
Thanking you from the bottom of our hearts.
