When my niece Alys (aged 9) was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Leukemia it sent a shockwave through our family.

The courage and strength she has shown throughout her treatment is nothing short of incredible. She has always remained upbeat and positive throughout countless operations, blood transfusions, lumbar punctures and Chemotherapy sessions. She is an absolute warrior!

18 months on and Alys is now in remission and starting to live the life a young girl should be able to. However she still has regular check ups with her team, which include bone marrow biopsies under general anaesthetic.

The impact this has had on Alys‘ parents, two sisters and close family has been huge. However the support that the two charity’s has provided them has been invaluable. I hope to raise as much money as possible to ensure that they can continue to support other families who are also affect by this..
