Daniel Court is raising money for Haematology Cancer Care
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. On the 7th of March I am running the Bath Half Marathon in order to raise money for the 'Leukaemia and Lymphoma Unit' at the UCL hospital in London and I am asking that you please donate as much as possible to this great charity. As some of you may know back in 2005 I suffered from a rare blood disease called Haemophagocytic Lymphohystiocytosis (HLH) and was treated at UCL on the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Unit. During the time I spent in hospital I met many people and made many friends including two young boys called Patrick and Ghayad who both suffered from Leukaemia. On being discharged from hospital I soon found out that both of them had passed away during treatment. It is unfair that they should have both died so young when I walked away. By running the marathon I hope to raise money in memory of the two of them and also to make sure that with the help and support of the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Unit many more young children suffering from different types of cancer can have a second chance like I did.
