Aspire Channel Swim 2022 · 4 July 2022

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

Hello, thanks for stopping by.

I am swimming the English Channel (approximately 22 miles from Dover to Calais while dodging flotsam, jetsam and jellyfish) with four other keenos to raise money to support the incredible work Aspire does to help people who have been paralysed by Spinal Cord Injury.

Aspire's work is essential. Every four hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It could happen to anyone at any time. No one is prepared for how it will change their life.  Your generous donation will help Aspire support the 50,000 people living with a spinal cord injury in the UK.

We hope to cross the Channel on the 4th July 2022.  Training is going well.  I have passed the Dover qualifier and closing in on 150,000 metres so far this year (or 6,000 lengths of a 25m pool)...  and yes, that gets boring ; )

Many thanks for your support!
