Story

On Saturday 16th January 2021 our much loved healthy 56 year old brother Andrew was admitted to Frimley Park Hospital with Covid 19.  Andrew spent 2 days on a Covid ward where his condition deteriorated and he was then transferred to the High Dependency Unit at Frimley Park Hospital.

On Friday the 22nd January we were given the news that Andrews condition had worsened further and he was to be placed on a ventilator and transferred to the Intensive Care Unit at Frimley Park Hospital.

(As of today 1st March 2021) Andrew is still on a ventilator and we take each day as it comes but the love and care Andrew has received from all the staff at Frimley Park Hospital has been out of this world (we cannot thank you enough).  The NHS has been on its knees during the Covid 19 pandemic but these superhero's come to work every single day and give their all.

The compassion, love and care our brother has received is nothing short of remarkable.  Not being able to visit as you would normally be able to do with a loved one when they are in hospital fighting of their life is hard but the doctors, nurses and care staff are giving him so much love in our absence.

We cannot thank you all enough for what you have done/doing for our Brother/Son/Uncle and Friend.

One Tuesday 19th January the NHS were faced with the highest numbers of Covid patients since the start of the pandemic significantly more than they had during the first peak. Staff are under immense pressure & were doing everything possible to look after their health and wellbeing while they work tirelessly to care for patients. Having learnt so much from the first wave, the NHS know how to support their staff, but they can only do this with our help. Right now, staff across our hospitals continue to work tirelessly to deliver care to those who need it most. Many are working longer shifts, extra days & continuing to spend a lot of time away from their home and families to keep them safe & ensure every patient receives the care they deserve. Your donation will support staff wellbeing & provide psychological support, enhance staff spaces to create comfortable areas so they can take a break during/after their shifts and also enable the charity to react effectively as demands change.
