Transcontinental Race No. 6, 2018 · 29 July 2018

The FT provides university scholarships, mentorship, and access to networks to disadvantaged Afghan women. By growing a community of educated and active young women, we envisage a society that respects the rights of women to engage fully in the social, political and economic arenas of Afghanistan.

I am truly the happiest when it is just me, myself and my bike, doing the miles. However, having accustomed to Husna's stories of Afghanistan and its effect on her, still to this day, I am happier to pedal knowing I can make a change.

The women... The children... These are the most common topics on the news. If I think why, the first thing that comes to mind is a man's primal desire to dominate and conquer. In Husna's context, these men are ruled by their primal desires, without the guidance of education to elude them away from their wrongs.

For every km, a pound raised for Farkhunda Trust will enable to empower and liberate disadvantaged women through education. Which, I believe, has a knock-on effect on the children and the men surrounding them as poverty and suffering is transmitted through generations.

Through education, I want to further allow these women to comprehend that the disadvantage aroused from these primal desires is not justly.

Every pound fights for Women's rights.

Every pound has a knock-on effect for the Women's Future. Help me bring these women one step closer to liberation.
