Hey, I’m Dan and I’m running The London Marathon this year to raise money and awareness for MacIntyre, a fantastic charity that provides education, care and support for people with learning disabilities and/or autism.

It’s a charity very close to my heart having an autistic niece myself in Thea. Thea is one of the happiest kids I’ve ever met, so loving and kind. She was non verbal but since attending Hafod Lon a school in our local area, the help and support she has received from them has been brilliant. She’s come on leaps and bounds and can now say where she lives, who she is and family members names and of course communicating when she wants chocolate! Musically she is gifted and has a natural talent and love for playing the piano and drums, something without the help of having specialised education may not have been highlighted! Showing just how important charities like MacIntyre really are to to changing peoples lives for the better. 

I see the support that Thea has received and it makes me so happy that there are organisations and charities out there that are helping so many others in the same way. I hope to do all I can to repay the faith that MacIntyre have shown by giving me a place to run in the marathon for them,  so all donations will be greatly appreciated -  Thank you.

MacIntyre provides education, care and support for people with a learning disability and/or autism. Our vision is for all people to live a life that makes sense to them.Each of our 2022 runners has their own reason for taking part; we look forward to sharing their stories over the coming months
