Cambridge Half Marathon 2021 · 17 October 2021 ·

Thank you for visiting Bromley Mencap’s JustGiving page. We are a local charity supporting disabled children, young people and adults, and their families, across the Bromley, Lewisham and surrounding community. Every day, we work to ensure disabled people are seen, heard and valued — and have the same opportunities to live happy, fulfilling lives. From providing short breaks for families, to running inclusive activities, offering advice and advocacy, and creating safe spaces where people can build confidence and friendships, our services make a real and lasting difference. For many families, this support is life-changing. But we can’t do this alone. Your donation will help us continue delivering vital services, reach more people who need us, and respond to growing demand in our community. Whether it’s funding a session, supporting a family in crisis, or helping someone feel less alone, every contribution matters. No amount is too small, and every pound raised stays local, directly supporting people in Bromley. If you’re not able to donate, sharing our page with others would mean just as much. Thank you for your kindness and support — it truly makes a difference!

Story

To help me better manage my mental well-being I took up running about a year ago. Running 5k seemed an unachievable goal when I started, but with great encouragement from friends and family I am now attempting my first half marathon.

Supporting people with mental health issues, learning and other disabilities has always been important to my family and me. I am therefore running in support of Bromley Mencap, a charity that does fantastic work with disabled people, their families and carers, in the London Borough of Bromley - my home town.
