We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

Once upon a time there was a boy called Daniel.  Daniel was a very greedy boy, who ate and ate.  Every year he got bigger and bigger until one day in 2009 a mischievous little illness called Diabetes crept up on him.  Daniel was told that if he didn't fight Diabetes, he'd be dead in only four years.

Being a brave sort, Daniel decided to battle Diabetes.  He had become 27 stone being greedy, and knew it had to stop.  He decided to set himself a seemingly impossible target, to run a marathon before the end of the decade that was about to start.  Why, ten years seemed ever so long but he needed something to aim for.

Over the next few years, Daniel stopped eating so much and moved around much more.  Within a year Daniel had lost 10 stone, and by the time he was meant to die came along he'd lost over 12.  Daniel had been doing lots of cycling and walking, but one thing he couldn't do was run - this was very awkward for someone who wanted to run a marathon within the next seven years.  Daniel had tried running, but even though he was much smaller he still too fat.

Another year came and went and Daniel had lost 13 stone.  Daniel had become very unhappy though in his head and needed something new to spur him on.  So, just after Christmas 2013, Daniel decided that the time had come to start running.  He only did little baby steps at first, but by March he ran in his first 10k race.  That was only a quarter of a length of the marathon he'd dreamed of doing!  A month later he did 10k again, but this time it was much harder as Daniel did it in mud and he got very dirty.

Daniel was now starting to love running, and took on his biggest challenge yet in June - he ran half a marathon!  He took a long time, but he didn't finish last and it made him very happy.  So now Daniel wants to do what he promised himself - and will run a marathon in Leicester this October.  He would very much like your help by giving him even a little amount of money so he can give it to some lovely people who are trying to kill Diabetes once and for all.

Will he live happy ever after?  He can, with your help!
