Well, the training is well under way for Muzza-Aid 2014 and this, the sixth anniversary of my annual event, is maintaining the Australian theme from 2013 but cranking it up a notch or two!! On September 21st , I will be donning my lycra and heading out on the 26.2 mile course of the Sydney Marathon!! 

...As many of you are aware, there is a far more serious and emotive side to Muzza-Aid than just keeping this amazing *cough-cough* body of mine in tip-top condition!! Seven years ago (almost to the day of this year's Sydney Marathon) I sadly lost my Mum to Lung Cancer and since then I have organised an annual fund raising event to challenge myself personally, raise some money for her charity and to make the 'Old Dear' proud of her boy as she looks down on me from above!!

As always, I will be raising funds for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. Lung Cancer is THE most common cancer in the world. In the UK, around 48, 000 new cases are diagnosed each year and sadly of these, 40,000 people do not survive...it is the biggest cancer killer, with more than twice as many deaths compared to the nearest other type of cancer.
