WOW!! It barely seems 2 minutes ago since my brother and I were toiling in 40 degree heat as we cycled 2,000km through Vietnam for Muzza-Aid 2012!!

Well, the training has now begun in earnest for Muzza-Aid 2013 and this, the fifth anniversary of my annual event, has a distinctly Australian theme to it with not one but TWO challenges crammed into the space of 3 weeks. On September 22, Fraser Moore and I will be battling it out with each other for the quickest time at the Sydney Half Marathon...and then Joe Toohey and Luke Donnelly will be adding some much needed brawn to our team as the four of us take on the electric shocks, hot coals, vertical walls and countless other obstacles across the 20km course of Tough Mudder on 12 October.

...As many of you are aware, there is a more serious and far more emotive side to Muzza-Aid than just keeping this amazing *cough-cough* body of mine in tip-top condition!! Six years ago I sadly lost my Mum to Lung Cancer and since then I have organised an annual fund raising event to challenge myself personally, raise some money for her charity and to make the 'old dear' proud of her boy as she looks down on me from afar!

As always, I will be raising funds for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. Lung Cancer is THE most common cancer in the world. In the UK, around 48,000 new cases are diagnosed each year and sadly of these, 40,000 people do not survive...It is the biggest cancer killer, with more than twice as many deaths compared to the nearest other type of cancer.
