Thank you for visiting my Dundee Cyclathon Challenge page.
One in four children in Scotland live in poverty. For many families the issue has become so acute that they must choose between everyday essentials like food, heating and clothing. Things which we take for granted.
To compound this already serious issue information which is now being made available indicates that the lockdown which has been implemented as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant negative impact on the mental health of our countries children.
The STV children's appeal provides practical help like food and clothing or creating opportunities for training and employment or supplying social and emotional support to help them overcome their difficulties.
I'm taking part in the Dundee Cyclathon Challenge that has been organised by the Claverhouse Rotary so that I can raise funds for these children, particularly now, during the Coronavius pandemic where they risk being pushed deeper into poverty.
This year, as the normal Cyclathon has been cancelled due to covid a group of Tayside Freemasons decided to cycle to every Masonic Lodge in the Province of Forfarshire. This route is a 94 mile loop involving over 4100 feet of climbing.
We appreciate that many people have suffered financial hardship as a result of covid and the resulting lockdown and will be unable to assist however we appeal to those who are able.
If you can, please make a donation to the STV Children's Appeal as sponsorship for our efforts in the Cyclathon.
