In October 2021 I will be running 7 marathons in 7 days in 7 different countries, I was originally due to run this in May but it has been pushed out due to COVID restrictions. As I have been training I have now also decided to attempt a 50-mile ultra-run on April 2^nd, so please spare a couple of pounds as its going to a very worth-while cause

This will be the third time I have raised money in memory of Luke Holland who was shot and killed in September 2015 simply by being in the wrong place at the wrong time, a very sad and truly shocking event in our lives. Luke sadly taken from us far too soon. It will also be the second time I have raised money in memory of his mother Rita Holland who couldn’t carry on anymore and sadly took her own life in October 2019. But I would also like to raise some money in honour of Luke’s Dad and Rita’s Husband Phil, who I have so much respect for, a man who has lost everything that meant the world to him. I am lucky enough to spend some time with Phil who I think is possibly the strongest person I know

So, in memory of Luke and Rita, and in honour of Phil I will be raising money for ‘Murdered Abroad’*. A charity which I hold in such high regard due to the fact that as an organisation they are so thankful for the small amounts of funds we have managed to raise these last few years, a charity that is a non-profit organisation which is there solely to try and help those that have lost loved ones abroad, run by directors all of whom have had family murdered abroad

After raising some money in 2018 we were invited down to an event in Cardiff, to see how our funds would be put to use and it’s a day that I will always remember. Since that day I have felt that I need to do as much as I can to try and help these people, so any event where I am truly pushing myself to the limits, to help get me through I think of what and who I am doing it for, which helps me get through the temporary pain which is nothing compared to the pain that the people I met that day have gone through

*Murdered Abroad was founded by, and is
run by, people who have lost loved ones to murder
or manslaughter abroad, they
all understand the trauma and the practical
difficulties that follow such
tragedy. They are an action group,
working for change within the UK to improve the
assistance families receive
from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, UK
Police, and Coroners.
