Action Heart provides a cardiovascular rehabilitation service that helps people who suffer from a heart or vascular related condition. Coronary Heart Disease is now seen as one of the UK's biggest killer and Action Heart is dedicated to the primary and secondary prevention of this condition.

Story

In the quest for a challenge I've entered a 50km "ultramarathon" (that's 31 miles for the traditionalists).  I've been running for 18 months now but have never run a marathon so this is going to be a tough effort, but training is going quite well and distances building up nicely! The route is from Manchester City Centre to Sowerby Bridge in Yorkshire,  all along canals, like a gentle stroll in the countryside really :) In case that was all sounding a bit easy, I also have to carry some basic kit so need to run with a rucksack as well.

In a second fit of madness, if my legs still work i'm planning on running the Manchester Marathon a mere two weeks later (but lets just see eh....)

I've not really collected for charity before, but thought i'd raise a little cash for the Dudley based Action Heart charity, as my Dad has been helped by their centre.  And its in Dudley aye it.
