Story
This year I am taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon & Manchester Marathon to raise funds and awareness for Kidney Care UK.
Despite kidney disease affecting three million people in the UK there is still very little awareness about its severity. It is a lifelong condition that can impact anyone regardless of their age, gender, or race.
I was a teenager when I was diagnosed with IGA nephropathy and began dialysis on New Year's Day in 2009 before receiving a transplant from my mum later in the Summer. Unfortunately my transplant isn't a cure. There have been numerous ups and down along the way and, ultimately, I know it is certain to end in kidney failure once again.
Put simply, living with kidney disease is physically and mentally exhausting. But Kidney Care UK provide vital services to ensure no-one has to face it alone.
Anything you are able to donate will help support kidney patients and their families when they need it the most.
Thank you
Daniel
