Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page for everyone whom has lost people to the disease stand together and show your support and let’s try and beat this once and for all x
I’m doing this cycle from Birmingham to western super - mare as I want to try and help cancer research Uk as much as possible, after seeing my granddad slowly fading away due to this disease, it killed me as he was my rock my best friend taught me everything I now know to this day. My granddad was always there for me when I needed him he would always try to help others if they needed him, he was a very proud man and at times very stubborn but overall he was a loving gentleman and many loved him.
when it was coming to his final days we all knew this disease was getting too much for him and as much as he was a fighter he couldn’t hold on much longer, one of his final words of wisdom was to my little brother saying use your talent in music do charity gigs for cancer it will help loads, so even when he knew his last breath was coming he was still thinking of ways to help others, on this note I decided to follow through with what he had said and decided to do a bike ride from Birmingham to western-supermare in response to my granddads death, I mean what is four days in my life when some people whom we all have lost with never get a day again, it’s time to make a change and try and raise as much as possible maybe one day we will all have that news of a cancer cure . X
my granddad will always be in my heart for ever and will never forget him and everything he has done and shown me over many years I spent with him he was my role model my father my best friend for ever and always, I will end on the poem I read at his funereal I will always know he will be with me
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there - I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints in snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
As you awake with morning's hush
I am the swift-up-flinging rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there - I did not die.
