Exercising to Easter - 40miles in 40days

Danielle Clark is raising money for Our Brave Knight
In memory of Cameron Clark

We started this journey in September 2013, after our own Brave Knight was 36th in Europe to be diagnosed with XIAP Deficiency. Unfortunately he lost his battle in May 2014. So as you can see this is a very rare condition, it's a genetic condition that only effects boys. It stops the immune system from working properly, so a common cold can become a matter of life or death. As well as the condition, the treatment for it is also life threatening. We want to raise money to fund any research to stop the treatment also being life threatening.

Story

A group of us have decided rather than give something up for Lent we would run, walk or row it one mile a day. 40 miles in 40 days. All the way to Easter.

Cameron’s Mummy (Danielle Clark) and Sister (Olivia) are running it, along with Cameron’s Papa’s friend Jay Harrison. It is the first event Cameron’s Mummy is doing for the charity and she is feeling nervous. Jay has challenged Olivia to run it everyday in a Nottingham Forest shirt (which he bought her) for extra donations from him! Keep an eye out for photos.

Taking it across the country cousin Lynn McGuire is joining us in Scotland.

Cameron’s Papa (David Clark) and Nanny Mish (Michlene Clark) will be walking it, which is a big deal for Papa as he had a major hip operation a few months ago that he is still recovering from. Also walking the 40 miles is Jays wife Sonya Willson.

And we have another one of Papas friends Jono, Mark Johnson, rowing a mile a day.

We started our journey in September 2013 when our own Brave Knight, Cameron, became poorly. He was 36th in Europe to be diagnosed with the rare genetic condition XIAP Deficiency. Unfortunately he was unable to keep fighting and lost his battle in May 2014 after lots of treatment at Great Ormond Street Hospital and a bone marrow transplant. Since that day we have vowed that we would raise as much money as we can to fund research into the condition and treatment to help other boys and families across the world.
