In May 2021, my family lost my nan after a short battle with cancer. The loss of my nan left a huge hole in our family as she was our only remaining grandparent and to lose her so quickly was hard for all of us. 

Nan was someone who also loved to give back to the community. She raised money for fantastic local causes that meant a lot to her and worked alongside some incredible charities providing support for others and offering a warm, welcoming smile. 

This August, me, my sister Paige and brother in law Joe, wanted to look at doing something to honour, remember and celebrating Nan's life as we come to the first anniversary. We have decided to raise money for some of the charities she supported by climbing Mount Snowdon. 

One of the charities we have chosen to raise money for is the Royal Voluntary Service team at the YnysMon and Gwynedd Hub. This was a team that Nan volunteered with for 12 years at Ysbyty Alltwen and her time spent working with RVS meant a lot to Nan. 

I also want to make a special thank you to Ann Marie at the Oakeley Arms, Maentwrog for sponsoring our adventures of climbing Snowdon. 

I hope that we can make Nan proud by raising money for some of the fantastic causes she loved so much. Thank you for sponsoring us.
