Story
Not quite the London Marathon, but a good start for a worthy cause!
For those of you who don't know, i have suffered from Alopecia for about 10 years. Most recently losing the majority of my hair for the second time. Whilst this is not life threatening, being a woman with no hair (or very minimal in my case) in our image obsessed society can be difficult.
About Alopecia -
Alopecia is an autoimmune disease whereby your immune system attacks your hair follicles and causes hairloss. It can affect men women and children of any age. Currently, there is no cure and the disease itself is very unpredictable meaning a treatment that has proven successful in the past, may not in the future.
Alopecia UK aims to provide information, support and advice to sufferers. As well as funding valuable research into the cause and treatments.
