In January of this year my amazing, gorgeous, beautiful husband Charlie was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia (CML). Charlie has handled this unchartered territory like the true champ he is, and is responding well to his treatment.

CML is a rare type of blood cancer caused by a permanent genetic change in the bone marrow, which in turn makes the body produce too many abnormal white blood cells. Luckily, CML today is very treatable - thanks to the invention of targeted therapy tablets (TKI's).

Cancer is a word that no 27 year old wants to hear, ever! And I am so immensely proud of Charlie. Whilst it wasn't what we had planned for our first year of marriage, it has made us love harder, hold each other closer and realise more than ever that health really is everything.

Charlie's wonderful parents, Rachel and Sean are also taking on the London Marathon to raise awareness and funds for Leukaemia - CML is no match for the Morgans!!!

CML often goes undetected. We're so grateful that Charlie's was found early, and like with any cancer, early detection can make all the difference. Even if you're not able to donate, I urge you and your loved ones to have a routine blood test.

I am so grateful for the amazing blood cancer charities that exist today. Without them, Charlie's outlook could be very different. That's why I'm running the London Marathon for Leukaemia Care. This national charity is dedicated to ensuring that anyone affected by blood cancer receives the right information, advice and support. Around 34,000 people are affected by blood cancer each year in the UK and Leukaemia Care is there to support every single one of them.
