Story
Well I think I am officially mad! Having been diagnosed with hypermobile joints as a teenager and told to avoid all 'high impact' exercise I have signed myself up for The Great North Run. (Don't worry I haven't had any dislocations for a good few years now!)
So...on September 20th 2009 I will be putting on my trainers and running 13.1 miles in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
The training is going well so far, no joint problems at all (touch wood).....however......I have a fair bit to do and if I'm going to complete this half marathon I need some help to make it all worthwhile! Which is where you come in!
Macmillan provides financial, emotional and nursing care to cancer patients and families affected my Cancer. I've recently seen first hand the great work these guys do and felt compelled to run for them. As like most charities they are dependent on donations to function.
If you can spare £1 to sponsor me it'll be going to a fantastic cause. If you can spare more even better! :-)
If you want to come along & support from the sidelines you're very welcome! I hear there is a good pub on the finish line to keep you occupied while you're waiting for me to crawl over the finish line!
Thanks in advance for supporting me and this great cause.
Love
