Asda Foundation Derby Half Marathon 2018 · 3 June 2018 ·

Epilepsy Action is creating a world without limits for everyone affected by epilepsy, connecting people with others, and providing support and information you can trust. We’re calling out the misunderstanding, prejudice and barriers that stop people with epilepsy living their best life.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I completed the 2018 Asda Foundation Derby Half Marathon on Sunday 3rd June 2018 with all funds raised to be donated to Epilepsy Action.

After experiencing my first seizure whilst on holiday I was diagnosed with Epilepsy when I was 17 years old. At 27 with the support of the Neurology Department of the Queen's Hospital, Burton Upon Trent and medication my seizures are now under control and I have been seizure-free for 6 years. Unfortunately, others aren't as lucky as I have been and continue to fight this condition physically and mentally on a daily basis.

Every day in the UK 87 people are diagnosed with epilepsy and it can affect anyone, at any age and from any walk of life.

My goal is to help fund the research required to help others also become seizure free, help the families who have to see their loved ones battle with this condition on a daily basis and for those who have had to face the heartbreak of an epilepsy related death.

Your contribution and support to this worthy cause will be highly appreciated, any funds raised are going to be hugely beneficial to this wonderful charity.

Many thanks in advance.
