Daniel's Brave the Shave

Daniel Newbon is raising money for The Myton Hospices
In memory of Louise Young
We support thousands of people living with terminal illnesses & their families, in our three hospices, via our patient & family support services, and in the community through Myton at Home. We need to raise £12.7 million this year to provide our services free of charge – we can’t do it without you!

Story

I have decided to shave my head to raise money in memory of a very close family friend Louise Young.

Louise passed away 18 months ago, a very short time after being diagnosed with cancer. She spent her last week in Myton Hospice Coventry where she was cared for and her family were supported.

Louise was a very caring person who I had the honour of knowing all throughout my life. Louise and my mum met at antenatal classes and I grew up with our families being very close, being the same age as her daughter Jessica. I have very special memories which include  holidays spent together, birthday celebrations and New Year parties leading into celebrating Sam's birthday.

At The Myton Hospices we believe that everyone matters for every single moment of their life; we focus on enhancing life when cure is no longer an option. We are leaders in compassionate end of life care; our work centres on our patients and involving them in decisions about their care. Perhaps most importantly we give them more quality time with their loved ones. Last year we supported more than 1,500 people and their families, in our three hospices, via our patient & family support services, and in the community through Myton at Home.
