Story
I’m running the Royal Parks Half Marathon this October for Help Musicians, a charity with a love for music and has been working hard to make a meaningful difference to the lives of musicians across the UK for 100 years.
As someone who is fortunate enough to dedicate my career to the music industry, in the past few years particularly working with emerging artists, I’ve been organising gigs with hundreds of incredible musicians. Many of my friends have benefitted by the support that Help Musicians provides for things such as recording and releasing music expenses, touring costs, and they also provide vital 24/7 mental health support.
From being immersed within the grassroots music scene and engaging to the artists on a regular basis, you see just how draining it is both emotionally and financially to be a musician, the challenges are real, and because of the impact of this a lot of artists are hindered and unable to release music and tour, so it’s vitally important that a charity like Help Musicians exists to support artists so that they can continue to pursue their artistic endeavours, reach their potential and flourish.
This will be my first half marathon so I’m very excited to be doing this for the benefit of Help Musicians and your generous contributions will not only propel me across the finish line but, more importantly, they will support the UK music scene, offering unwavering support to artists in need.
