Balkan Underdogs is a not for profit UK registered charity run by volunteers dedicated to helping the street dogs & cats in the Balkans where there is no animal welfare laws to protect them. We also carry out FREE spay & neuter campaigns & educate locals to help prevent the problem at it's source.

Story

It is never to early to plan for Christmas, especially when you don't celebrate it! When your birthday is in January, and you prefer not to receive gifts, it's definitely never to early.

This year I am planning to walk the distance from London to Belgrade by my birthday (17th January). I think it is about 1,600 km, so I need to do about 15km a day.

Why Belgrade? In the Balkans a lot of dogs are left on the street and end up homeless. This happened to my wonderful dog Teddy before he was rescued. I've been keeping up with the work Balkan Underdogs do for some time and I just want to rescue every dog they have there (https://www.balkanunderdogs.org.uk/).

Obviously I can't do that but what I can do, I hope, is help raise money for them to help as many doggies as possible. I hope by doing this sponsored walk I can raise money for Balkan Underdogs to help them with their incredible work.

If you are one of the kind people wondering about what to get me for Christmas or my birthday then don't worry! I've made it easy for you by organising this sponsored walk!

Thanks to everyone who helps. Aside from the small matter of pursuing the Buddhist path to freedom from suffering, nothing is more important to me than dogs so I am so grateful to everyone who can help me help more furry angels live their best lives. xxxx
