The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

For a number of years I have raised funds for charities doing bake sales and collections. This time I want to face up to a real challenge, not just physically, but also socially and mentally.

I have to get much fitter by the start date, so those who know me will recognise that getting ready for the trek will be a major challenge in itself. I will be working very hard to get myself in shape. Also, similar to many other people living with autism, I do not find social activities easy, so I will also have to prepare for living with a group of trekkers I have never met before, with all the issues that may entail.

I'm really looking forward to walking the canyons and seeing sights that many tourists do not get to see. I know the terrain will be tough to cover, but I hope my efforts will raise lots of money for the NAS.
