Thanks for visiting my page. 

I'm doing something remarkably silly. 

On July 16th and 17th, I'm going to play in a 24-hour six-a-side football match to raise funds for the Tartan Army Children's Charity (TACC).

The format is simple, we play 6-a-side football for 24 hours with rolling substitutions. A few of you know I did this a number of years ago. On that occasion, I covered roughly 36 miles and played for about 18 hours of the game in total.  Many more of you will know that I am not what could ever be called a natural athlete! And we're now 5 years, 20lbs and fatherhood down the line from last time - so this is quite the physical challenge.

TACC is a wonderful organisation that raises funds for children's groups in Scotland and overseas. It's a small charity, entirely staffed by volunteers which has done immeasurable good around the world over the years. They also fund the excellent 'My First Scotland Match' initiative which takes young people to Hampden Park for the first time to see our National Teams play. This, admittedly, cancels out a lot of their good work, introducing hundreds of children to a lifetime of misery and suffering each year - but it's still a very good cause!
