In April 2024, I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for Mind!
This charity works hard to raise awareness surrounding mental health and support those suffering with it.
Exercise hasn’t come naturally to me and since the age of 22 I have been working hard to improve my physical health. (Picture 3 age 22 and age 27). During lockdown, like so many, I ended up suddenly at a loss and so began running - which gave me something to focus on and kept me sane during the long period of isolation. This has now led me to complete my first 5k, 10k and half marathon.
Now aged 27, I am aiming to run the London Marathon!
I strongly believe that exercise and being outside are both greatly beneficial to the improvement of mental health. Since beginning my journey, I have noticed the change in myself - in confidence, happiness and independence.
I have chosen Mind as a charity to raise awareness for mental health and to also show that we can all overcome our challenges (mine being a 5k five years ago!).
If you are interested in supporting me (even just the price of your morning coffee) please donate! Thank you for your support.
