Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On the 23rd March we will be hitch-hiking for 36 hours without spending any money on transport. We need as much support as possible to get as far as possible from Leeds!
We're raising money for the World Land Trust, which is a prominent charity in saving threatened species and their habitats worldwide. Loss of biodiversity - the variety of animals, plants, their habitats and their genes - on which so much of human life depends, is one of the world’s most pressing crises. It is estimated that the current species extinction rate is between 1,000 and 10,000 times higher than it would naturally be.
WLT don't just focus on an individual endangered animal, like giant pandas, but instead aim to protect an entire ecosystem, with all of the species it supports. They also keep their administration costs down, so that donations go directly to save threatened habitats and wildlife. It's a charity we all feel very passionate about and is supported highly by Sir David Attenborough! You can watch his speech encouraging support for WLT here: https://www.youtube.com/user/WorldLandTrustAny donation will be hugely appreciated! Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
