In late September I will be joining 5 other "well covered" but inappropriately clad friends to cycle from Lands End to John O’Groats. MAMILs (Middle Aged Men In Lycra) is not a good look, so in the interests of being considerate to others and minimising shock factor we
are doing this in 9 days.
A few facts about the ride that I think you will agree is a huge challenge;
This means a little over 100 miles/160km per day - some days are over 200km, with an average of ~6500ft/2,000m climbing per day. I don’t expect it to be easy. I am only confident that the UK
weather will be blissful for 9 days straight, going into October. What could possibly go wrong?
Giving is very personal. The charity I have chosen is British Lung Foundation and is extremely close to my heart having lost my Father in law Tony Mackenzie to Lung Cancer.
