I am Dannii Thexton and I’m 30yrs old. I have been riding since I was 9 yrs old. I went to my local riding school and have been there ever since. I have had many of ponies in the past with the majority of them kept there. Over the years I have competed from pony club centre level through the ranks up to top level showing including qualifying and riding at The Royal International horse show and The Horse of the Year show. Alongside this for the past 12 years I have also ridden out a couple of racehorses most days which is what has given me the inspiration to want to take part in this charity race. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and a dream come true. 

I have chosen to raise money for The British Horse society because during the past year and us all living through this pandemic they have helped my local riding school (as well as many bhs approved riding centres in the country) with funding to help with the day to day care of the horses whilst being closed. Therefore as a thank you I would like all my funds raised to go to them as without their help many riding schools would have to close permanently. 

 The BHS' 2021 Charity Races raise funds for the vital work of the charity.To help raise funds for the BHS, I have opted to take up the reins to compete in one of two charity races at Newbury and Wetherby.This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and offers me the chance to be in the thick of it as we head to the starting line and race eight furlongs around a famous race course.
