Samaritans is available round the clock, every single day of the year providing a safe place for anyone struggling to cope, whoever they are, however they feel, whatever life has done to them.

Story

Until Good Friday 2019 I had never cycled more than 75 miles.

On that day I rode 110 miles to Angelsey and rode back again the day after.

That was practice: painful practice for something much greater.

Now I am challenging myself to ride across the UK, from John O'Groats to Land's End.

I'll ride 1000 miles in nine days. I want to raise £1 for every mile I peddle.

In 2017 there were 5,821 suicides in the UK.

In my life, I have been unfortunate enough to lose 4 friends to suicide.

I have had family members and friends who have struggled with mental health problems: most recently my sister Nicola.

I too have struggled with mental health issues in the past, but now I want to do something to help stop suicide being a normal part of our lives.

Help me to raise £1000 for the Samaritans in Manchester to be a helping hand and voice to those who think there is nowhere else to turn.

I'll ride if I'm sore, sick, bored, or depressed and keep going for anyone out there who is struggling.

I'll keep a video diary to tell you what I see, do and feel.

I'll raise this money so that maybe one person or a hundred can know there is someone to talk to and keep on going.
