Story
I am passionate and thankful for the YMCA. While my daughter was out of school for the summer, we needed to find a place where she could go and enjoy her summer, but also continue to learn new things and be safe. She was too old for the traditional daycare, so we enrolled her into the YMCA's summer program. We would drop her off in the morning on our way to work and pick her up on the way home, very convenient for us. During this "first" summer, she learned how to swim, met new friends and took up some art and craft ideas, as well. They had fun trips that she was able to go on, as well. That was the first of three years that she went. The second year she asked us if she could return and, of course, we obliged her. That's a blessing in itself. To have your child come up and ask you to enroll in a great program that she enjoyed was great. Since that time, which was over 11 years ago, she still reflects back on the time there. She still has kept in touch with the friends she had met while attending. This is my "Y" story!
