Story
So here is the plan, On Sunday 9th April 2017 Danny will be running the Brighton Marathon and then on Saturday 22nd April (yes only 13 days after the marathon) we will be cycling around the perimeter of the Isle of Wight – a gruelling 66 miles route.
When Danny ran the London Marathon last April he well and truly caught the running bug, as well as making it the most memorable day of our lives by proposing at the end of it! Ever since that day he has wanted to do it all over again, the running that is. So he decided to take on the Brighton Marathon. Recently I have started to enjoy cycling, so why not give myself a challenge too and drag Danny along for the fun.
I hear you all asking why, well that is easy. When my dad, Danny’s father in law to be was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in March 2016 our worlds came tumbling down. Just the word “cancer” is scary enough to hear, let along the endless questions that come with it. It is fair to say that the help from then on, from Prostate Cancer UK was invaluable.
We would love to raise as much money as possible so other families can get their questions answered, the priceless books of information sent to them and the support at the end of the phone when needed. So this is our way of saying thank you.
As a family, we will be taking part in the London March For Men on Saturday 17th June 2017.
