Story

Let me introduce you to my friend Amelia. Amelia is 11 years old, and suffers from cerebral palsy, yet is one of the happiest, most charming individuals I have ever met. However, her life is a day to day struggle as she has needed a frame on wheels to help her move around.

2 years ago, her parents established that there was a way forward to help Amelia that could result in her walking unaided one day. Amelia duly had surgery to smash and rebuild both her ankles, and to stretch and re-attach the muscles and tendons in her legs.

Some of you will recall that I entered and completed the Ride London event in 2014. The response and support I received through sponsorship was overwhelming, and we raised enough funds to provide the physiotherapy Amelia needed ,following this horrific operation, for 2 years. I am delighted to say that as a result, Amelia can now walk short distances without her frame, but she still needs to use a stick or hold onto someone, but the difference in her day to day life is fantastic. As you can see from the photo, she is still very happy and smiling!

However, Amelia needs to continue on this journey through more physiotherapy, and I am calling on your help once again. I have entered the Ride London event which takes place on 31st July 2016, and I am asking for your help via sponsorship, so that together, we can continue to help Amelia achieve her goal of walking unaided. I really hope you can support me, and more importantly Amelia. Togther, we can make a difference and make Amelia's dream come true!

Many thanks

Danny and Amelia
