YEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS. I did it.

My official time was...........4.22.32

THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO HAS SPONSORED ME I AM SO PROUD TO HAVE RAISED SO MUCH MONEY

Hello Everyone

Firstly i would just like to say a big 'Thank You' for visiting my JustGiving page.

Yes I'm doing the London Marathon. Some of you will remember that I have done it before. It was 5 years ago and I've just about recovered. I really enjoyed taking part in 2005, in fact I enjoyed it so much I always said that I would love to do it again, although this time round I wont have two unfit mates slowing me down. I'm no Paula Radcliffe but I aim to get round the 26 miles as quick as possible this time, hopefully the Rhino outfit wont slow me down.

I will be raising money for a fantastic charity called 'Phab Kids'. I must admit I initially wanted to raise money for a children's charity although I didn't know who. It was my two children George and Darcey who decided on Phab as In their words they thought it would be 'Phab if I helped raise money to put smiles on other children's faces'. Not knowing anything about Phabkids I then proceeded to check out their web site to find out exactly who they were. Well my children could not have chosen a better charity to support. If you can I would recommend you check out their site as I know this will want to make you dig deep and part with your cash for a great cause.

Again I thank you so much for your support...............wish me luck !!!!!!!!!

My Training Diary:

Week 1 - Training got off to a BANG! Yes I started my first 5 mile run on November the 5th. Surprisingly I felt good, even done it in 35 mins. Just a bit gutted I have now got dirty my new Adidas running shoes.

No aches in the morning. Won't tell Sarah though or she won't give me a rub..............of my legs!

Here we go..........Ive just laid some flooring at home and pulled a muscle in my bum, and my back don't feel good. Give it a day or two and I will be back jogging the streets of Sidcup.

Big thank you to Nicola Higgins and family who were my 1st sponsors

Thank you to my Gorgeous Girl for your donation too............Love ya x

Wow, What can I say. Thank you Ian and Diane my future in laws.

Thanks Jordan and Leah. I cant believe Jordan parted with his cash.

Week 2 - Well week one was a bit of a non starter. Week two has started well. Went for a run tonight although I did stop off to get me hair cut on the way. I was jogging on the spot mind and now I have chunks cut out all over my bonce.

Been to the gym and did a few 5k runs, just keeping in the dry really.

Thanks to Pat and Geoff for their kind donation.

Week 3 - Still putting the miles in. I have to get my own ipod though as I use Sarah's and I'm fed up listening to Susan Boyle and Chesney Hawkes greatest hits.

Week4 - I'm increasing the distances now, I'm feeling and looking fit.............even if I do say so myself.

Thank You Brian and Brenda. I will put in a few more miles this week now.

Week 5 - My first 10K run tonight. Felt really good, done it in 48 mins and didn't really push myself. I am really enjoying all this running. Going to do a few more 10k runs before the end of the year. The main benefit of having a girlfriend who is a copper (apart from the uniform) is that I get to train when she is working nights.

Thanks Chris for digging deep just before christmas

Week6 - Christmas and left overs all gone I thought a trip to the gym was more than due. Only did a 5 mile run to ease myself into it then banged out the weights to work on my big guns. Another couple of runs to do before the end of the year then I will give it a big push.

Week 7, 8, 9 - Leave off its snowing!!!!!!!!!!

Week 10 - Back out on the non icy roads again. Done 7 miles on monday and felt stiff till thursday. Will have to get back out the weekend. Thanks to the future in laws for my new nike training top. I do look the part.

Thanks Ben Ould, what a donation................I expect nothing less from a man with your money, and your the largest sponsor so far...........no mankinis

Thank you Lisa and Alan Crush. Lisa you can rub my blisters after the run.

Penfold I will sponsor you too..........thanks mate

Well done jug ears Herridge. I will have that beer with you. Not whilst im training of course.

Thank You Christine from the train

Cheers Mr Osborne, about time you got them short arms in them long pockets

Bar de muse boy has sponsored me even though I dont remember seeing him..........Cheers Nick

Thanks for your kind donation Lynne.

Week 11 - Found the 7 mile run easy this week. Even bumped into Chris a Cathrene Lennon whilst running on Tuesday. Lennon was on his BMX (at 31 years old). Went to the gym and done a bit on the treadmill too.

Nice one Kelly and Neil Jones. Thank you !

Thank you Wendy and Alan Wilton for the generous donation.

Week 12 - The 7 mile run is getting so much easier now im going to up the distance a bit now. I just found out my brother Clive, who is training for the Brighton Marathon is knocking out over 35 miles a week. Mind you he is in the army and he is up at 5am running with other sweaty men, and he has a big chin, and curly ginger hair, and I beat him in an armwrestle.

WOW ! Thank you Stephen Hawkins. What a donation. I am not so worried now as I know you wont let me dress up in something that wont cover much. Thanks also to my son George and his friend Leo Hawkins.

Week 13 - I went out in the snow, well sleet tonight. It was freeeeeeeeeeeeeeezing. I felt really good whilst running, but was a total mess when I got home. I had mad stomach cramps all night. After doing some research I found out that it could of been due to the fact that I may have been dehydrated. I wont make that mistake again, I was in agony. Sarah looked after me though.

Cheers Chrisy MOOBS Lennon. You have got to stop going out on that BMX mate.

Well done Roberto M. One pound per mile eh. You need a square meal mate by the way.

A big thank you to David Taylor, and to my grandparents for pestering everyone at their club.

Week 14 - Whats going on with this weather. My legs and nose have both been doing plenty of running during this training. I have dished out all of the business cards with my just giving details on now so lets hope I start seeing some more donations.

Thank you Sue Ould and Roy and Denise Burridge. Lets hope Mat gets his hand in his pocket now.

Week 15/16 - Decorating the house has slightly hindered the training this week, still managed to get out a couple of times though. Also starting to worry about meeting my donation target.

Big thanks to Malcolm, Hayley, Taylor & Sonny.

Brendan, you've never had a shower but you've put the boys to shame by donating the most amount so far. Cheers mate.

Nick D'Arcy, the Xmas drinks have finally paid off!! Thanks!!

Cheers Ricky 3 Legs, I knew I could count on my oldest mate.

Thanks Mick! I knew you would support your apprentice.

Cheers Scott Lewis. The visits to the Dance scholl have payed off.

Week 17 - Went for a run on monday and felt really good. I have been working away this week and I have been up and down stairs all day so that surely counts for a bit off training. I am finding it hard to get the miles in what with working long hours and looking after the children, I need to organise myself better I think.

I've now gone past the half way mark with the donations. A big thanks to everyone who has sponsored so far.

Bob Cowans my Chelsea mate with the old bones, thank you kindly.

A big thank you to Simon Tonking for your kind donation, my mother has obviously been pestering you. Thanks !

Rick Zippo Everest............Thanks for that massive donation mate.

Nice one Linda. I bet you're the only one at the club to sponsor me. Thank you !!!!!!!!!!

Week 18 - All good at the mo, cracking on with the running. I think the next few weeks are gonna be the stamina weeks. Im gonna have to put it in. I just cant wait for it to start. Oh yeah, got my running vest. Thanks PHAB.

Cheers Lee Screach Murry Killen. If my donations grow like your eyebrows have I should make my target no problem.

Week 19 - Done my first half marathon. Found it ok to be honest. I do get bored running on my own though. I can't wait for the day to come now so I can run with a few other people.

Nice one Bud. Cheers Tony. What a donation. The Oxford pool champ, Des and Troy are very grateful

Week 20 - Im working really hard at the mo and trying to get a run or two in during the week too. It is taking its toll. I really could do with a nice lay in one day. Sarah has the weekend off work this week so we can finally spend some time together. I may take her out running with me if she's lucky.

I just got my running number and final details to prepare me for the big day. My number is 44732. All you have to do is spot it.

Keith and Gill thank you so much. Im looking forward to the Eastbourne Stag do Fordy.

Cheers Clare Crouch. Nice to see Sarah's old work mates supporting me. Thank you !

Cheers Ribeena boy bence. Hope my face don't get as red as yours after i've finished the marathon. Thanks mate.

Week 21 - Done a 13 mile run in 1 hour and 40 mins. Sounds good I know but I seriously doubt I could continue another 13 miles in the same time. You never know.

Thank you to Sarah's uncle David for his donation.

Nice one Luke from Vangaurds. Don't break that lift mate.

Rob the Chairman Head. What a top donation mate. Cheers big man.

Week 22 - A weekend at Blackpool on my brothers stag do hasn't helped the training. Seeing him walk around in a mankini all day keeps making me bring sick up in my mouth..........I have done a 8 and 11 mile run since the weekend and have really struggled. Only 2 and a half weeks to go, I should be super fit by now, I'm not.

Thanks Steve Skingley, I'm still in shock. You don't ever by me a cup of tea, I can't believe it. Nice one though shorty.

Craig 'the man who wishes he was me' Oldfield. Thanks mate, ya ya ya ya.......

Week 23 - Just had a lovely weekend in Brighton with Sarah, didnt exactly hold back on the booze either, tut tut. Done a small 4 mile and a 12 mile run so far this week. I am gonna be so knackered once i've completed the 26 miles. The 12 mile runs are quite tough. I'm now waiting to see if Mat and Lauren really do come up with the top donation and put me in something stupid...........I hope they don't.

GFP.........Well done bar code boy. 450 a day, nick flowers from curry houses, uses Kandos on the ring, ugly, Mr T hair cut.........Thanks my old flat mate, top donation.

Big thank you to my Nan and Grandad and thier friend Sylvia. Shame my Nan cant be able to watch, she will be dancing the night away in The Honey Club in Brighton the night before. You go girl......X

Cheers Simon the want to be Captain Cranmer. My arm band looks baggy on you mate.

Wow Great Aunt Mary. My Sarah really has a lovely family. Thank you so much.

Big Fella you finally got them short arms in them long pockets. Nice one mate. I hope my toenails last longer than Hayleys.

My old mate Michael Griffin, thanks you old git. You did owe me as you have totally worn out my tuxedo.

Week 24 - I cant believe it, I have only done something to my lower back. Honest. I keep getting sharp pains which are really uncomfortable. Don't worry I will be there on Sunday, I will just take it easy this week. Its the final training week, I feel totally unprepared. My brother just completed the Brighton Marathon in 4 Hours and 52 Mins so I have something to aim for, and I will win a 50 quid bet if I beat it. COME ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Below is a bit about Phab :

Phab is a national charity dedicated to the integration of people with and without physical disabilities in the community. With Lord Snowdon as Patron, Ed Stewart as President and Rolf Harris and Sir Cliff Richard as Vice Presidents, Phab has provided support and services for its members since 1957, enabling disabled people to enjoy the same opportunities and challenges as able-bodied and bring them together on equal terms.

Phab has a network of around 200 integrated junior, youth and adult clubs throughout England. Activities range from sailing and orienteering to theatre visits and quiz evenings. By meeting on equal terms, members appreciate and respect one another as individuals, irrespective of any differences or disabilities.

The objects and the aims of the Phab organisation have remained the same for 50 years, they are probably more relevant today than at any time in its existence. The Charity's long-held philosophy of bringing together people with and without physical disabilities on equal terms bears remarkable similarity of aim to the new promotion of social inclusion.

Although much has been achieved for disabled people since the 'Year of the Disabled' in 1981, there is still a long way to go before they are fully integrated within our society. Phab's aim is to do just that.
