Challenge Weymouth Iron Distance 2014 · 14 September 2014

Immunodeficiency UK supports families with primary and secondary immunodeficiency. Immunodeficiency causes partial or full impairment of the immune system, leaving people unable to effectively resolve infections or disease. These disorders can be life-threatening and often need life-long care.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Our gorgeous boy Nate has a primary immunodeficiency.  He is the bravest person I know.  I decided to challenge myself this year.  Thus far I’ve run the Richmond Park Trail Marathon, completed the Olympic Distance Triathlon in Hyde Park, ridden my bike 100 miles across the Black Mountains in South Wales in the Dragon Ride and will complete a half iron-man challenge in August.  This was all just a warm up!  The main event is the Challenge Weymouth Iron Distance Triathlon in September.

On Sunday 14th September I plan to get up at a silly hour, swim 3.8km in Weymouth Bay, get on my bike and ride 180km across the glorious Dorset Countryside and then run 42.2km around the town of Weymouth.  I have trained long and hard and am determined to finish the course and show Nate that with resilience, planning and hard work anything can be achieved.

Nate has faced some real battles of his own in his short life and he humbles us with his courage and humility.  I want to help raise as much money as I can to help him and others like him to ensure their health needs are met.

If you’ve read all this, you’ll hopefully be clicking on the DONATE NOW button soon.

Thanks for visiting.  Thanks for your support.  It is very much appreciated.

Wish me luck!

Dan
