Dan's Three Peak Challenge · 14 June 2022

At Macmillan, we will move mountains to help people with cancer live life as fully as they can. We’re doing whatever it takes. But without your help we can’t support everyone who needs us. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours - Ben Nevis (1345m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1085m).

More importantly, as part of a team at Roche, we are looking to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support in the run up to our attempt. Cancer unfortunately remains an uncomfortable part of many of our lives, and almost all of us have been affected by it in some way or another.

I'll be undertaking this particular challenge in memory of my big brother Mark (in my photo above which was actually taken on a family hike up Snowdon), who was cruelly taken from us after battling an aggressive stomach cancer back in 2014. He was only 32 at the time. Mark fundraised many times throughout his life for worthy causes that he believed in, so now it's my turn.

Macmillan is an incredible charity that supports individuals and their families in the darkest times of their lives, so please consider donating to my fund. (Plus if I know people have forked out to support me, it'll be bloody great motivation to drive through the inevitable pain and fatigue that awaits me!)

Thank you and wish me luck!
