We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

Darcey's best friend Skye was diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in May 2012 as she turned 4. Skye fought a brave courageous and inspiring battle that defied her years surrounded by her amazing family who dedicated everything they could to Skye. Sadly she lost her battle aged 5 on August 31st last yr.

Darcey a year on now a determined 6 yr old herself (she learnt this from an awesome little friend :) wants to keep Skye's memory alive and is fundraising for leukemia and lymphoma research, a charity Skye's Mum and Dad are very keen to support. Darcey has already pitched and successfully convinced my fantastic colleagues at Marks and Spencer, Cheshire Oaks, to help her raise all they can for 12 months for which we can't thank them all enough. Special people and a very special place to work.

Darcey hasn't had her haircut since 31st August last yr and has pledged to have it cut on Skye's birthday in April next year. She hopes to be sponsored for leukemia and lymphoma research but also to donate her hair (there is lots of it!) to children at Alderhey who would feel more themselves fighting their own battles with cancer if they were to have hair. Darcey spent a lot of time there playing and will always remember it as a warm loving place to be. The funds raised will be used for childhood leukemia research projects here in the north west that will feed directly into local hospitals like Alderhey.

They giggled, laughed and danced their way through such a lot together. If you could support Darcey in continuing her own battle to beat blood cancer in Skye's memory I know she would appreciate it, in her words "we need to keep more friends together and angels with us and have lots of fun doing it" and we will.
