Story

Please don't be sad when you read this post, Daron wouldn't want you to be!

After many months of pain, crying, laughter and happiness..... with a heavy heart Daron has lost his battle with cancer and has passed away quietly.

On Friday 4th June Daron became very unwell at home during the night and was rushed into hospital. Initially he stabilised but became very unwell on Saturday morning. After a CT scan and being moved up to Lugg ward, we were told he had a severe infection and the cancer had spread some more, and the next 24 -36 hours were crucial.
Unfortunately Daron departed from us, but had his wish of having a fast and painless departing. With myself , his mum and dad by his side at 5pm on Saturday 5th June Daron passed away painlessly and peacefully.

I thank all those so far who have sent us messages and those of you who will do, they are very much appreciated even if I don't manage to message back! Sorry...
So don't be sad cause he had a fabulous week beforehand!

He has had the most amazing week, enjoying darts with his brother in law Andy Davies and bad adding up by a little bit tipsy Angela Davies. On Monday 31st May he enjoyed celebrating my mum's 72nd birthday with all of our family around, sat in garden enjoying the sunshine making it a very special memory and day for us all. He spent some time with Justin Davies and Tracey exell chatting and catching up.
Wednesday he went and spent the day fishing, one of his favourite hobbies and had a special visit off Alan Smith. He also had a bonus visit off Fleur Hodges and myself with a couple of ice lollies for him. On Thursday we took the grandchildren to the farm to see the animals and then went for a picnic in Queens Wood. He even got to have a bit of a ride on the mobility scooter with them, before becoming a bit unwell and having to go home and miss out on the gruffalo trail with the kids and Lauren Ashfield.
He enjoyed his daily chats with his brother Julian Hodges, about where he was and what he was doing....

Friday was a quieter day at home and a quick visit to my mum's as he wasn't feeling his best.

Due to current restrictions he has left instructions not to have a funeral. However when the restrictions are relaxed, he would like a celebration of his life.
This is a reading, he had prepared for the funeral (that never happened), he would like to share it with you all.

I have been fortunate to share my life with a beautiful family and have been surrounded by truly amazing friends. At every point you have all been there for me, helping me develop and become a great dad and all grown up!

Thank you for the happiness, the support and your friendship. My life has been fruitful and I will live on forever within you all.

I am sure you all have stories of laughter and encouragement.... I beg you all to share these stories, good, bad and ugly. The ugly stories are by far the funniest. You all know how I loved to laugh, at things we really should not laugh at.....

I will be looking down on you all right now, thinking .... who is brave enough to share a story with everyone? And... oh yes I will be laughing my head off....

Is it appropriate to laugh at a funeral.... YES I SAY! join me in the celebration of my outstanding and hilarious life!!

I was brought into the world by wonderful parents, my mum (Sylvia) and my dad (Allen). My mum nearly called me Dennis (as I was so naughty) I was lucky to have two great brothers in Julian and Paul. Paul left home while I was 16 and never kept in touch. My bond with Julian has grown stronger as we got older, he even hugged me once... he has touch issues, try hugging him, it's hilarious. However he has never really forgiven me for his childhood, as I shot him so many times with an air rifle, strapping him to bikes and go karts and sending him to big crashes at the bottom of hills. I watched far too much last of the summer wine!

I attended St Martin's primary school and Whitecross highschool. I made many great life long friends and always did just enough to get by and get noticed for the right reasons. School was a great time in my life. However...... the teaching staff will not agree.

After leaving school I got an apprenticeship with the MEB in Hereford. I was very fortunate and worked very hard at night school to become a credible Engineer and Manager, ensuring that everyone I ever worked with knew firstly how to laugh. Then how to eat hot curry and have a good night out. Work always just got in the way. Those people were simply amazing and I loved them all.

As I finished my apprenticeship I met the cornerstone and love of my life KATE and her adorable family.
Kate was not taken with me at the start, but after adding copious amounts of cider and bribing my friends to leave us alone, she became to my charms. My whole life simply would never have been, if it was not for the support, encouragement and strength Kate and her family gave me every day of my life.

We have two beautiful children, Russ and Fleur. We have also been blessed with 2 beautiful grandchildren Florence and Stanley.
Russ has been a live wire since the day he arrived, he is great fun and naughty.... just like me. Parents evening was more of a careful negotiation to keep him in school.
Fleur has always been a fun loving perfectionist that needs to achieve to the highest level. It's not OCD, but the spelling tests with every tin of alphabet spaghetti got a little testing.
Our two children are a true testament to our family values.... smile, be happy and always be kind.

I have met many people on my journey, pulled many pranks and got away with so much.

I loved you all in my kind of "special " way.......

Be happy, smile, be kind and always remember the naughtiness in my eyes 😁

Love you all, until we meet again...... Daron.

I'm sorry for the long post, but in true Daza style he did like to keep you all informed and updated....
