Salesforce & Partners 8 Lakes Challenge for Joes Buddy Line · 23 August 2022

Set up in January 2021, Joe's Buddy Line Charity aim to promote and protect the mental health of young people, from primary school to university.

Story

Suicide is the leading causing of death for age groups 10-14 and 25-34.

On Tuesday 23rd August - 16 Salesforce employees and Partners will be trekking the Great Lakes 8. As a team, we are raising funds for Joe’s Buddy Line who provide mental health workshops in schools, run by certified mental health professionals to better support young people suffering from mental health issues. Joe’s Buddy Line aims to provide emotional and mental health support for school children across England and Wales. The Charity can also provide one-to-one counselling for individuals in these schools, or can refer them to other organisations that may be able to help. Joe’s Buddy Line promotes and protects the mental health, particularly but not exclusively, of young people from primary school to university throughout england and wales, by the provision of finance, support, education and practical advice and assistance.

During the challenge we will be:

  • Trekking for around 12 hours in a single day.
  • Covering 14 miles of undulating mountainous terrain, in a remote area of the Lake District.
  • Ascending over 1600m in a single day. That’s more ascent than Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest mountain!
  • Summiting 8 of the highest hills in the lake District, Rossett Pike (651m) Allen Crags (784m) Ill Crag (930m) Broad Crag (934m) Scafell Pike (978m) Great End (907m) Esk Pike (885m) and Bowfell (903m)
