The Miles Frost Fund aims to raise £1.5 million to help make genetic testing available to all families affected by the deadly heart condition hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

Story

Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's Miles Frost Fund and I'd be so grateful for your support.

Miles Frost died suddenly of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) in July 2015. Young, fit and in the prime of his life, Miles was just 31.

Miles’ death devastated his family and friends. And it was made all the more painful when they were told Miles probably inherited the condition from his father, Sir David Frost.

in 2008 my dad, like Miles Frost, passed suddenly at 59 years of age without any warning from a heart attack. Not only was this devastating  for my family and I at the time, it has also deprived my children of enjoying the experience of having him as a grandparent as they were both born after he died. The repurcussions of conditions like this are felt through the generations and The Miles Frost Fund will help ensure that genetic testing for immediate family members of those affected by HCM is available nationwide. This will mean more people can be diagnosed with this deadly condition and it can be treated before it’s too late. My hope is that no other families go through something like this and I believe Te Miles Frost Fund can help.

To help support and raise funds for this initiative I am taking part in this year's Prudential RideLondon event on 4th August. This is 100 miles from the Olympic Park through London to Surrey and back in again taking on the route of the 2012 Olympics road race including the infamous challenges such as Leith Hill and Box Hill ending with a full throtle sprint down The Mall towards the finish line.

My challenge this year is to complete the route without stopping.

It's really important that the funding is raised to support families who may have this hereditary condition get the proper testing and treatment they need to avoid premature death. I can't thank you enough for visiting my page. I know my dad would be proud of you all as much as he would me.

Thanks once again
