I'll be closing my Justgiving page shortly... many thanks to all my sponsors. For anyone thats interested I honoured my donation plan so have sent payments to Erskine and Blesma of £95 each. Although I'd like to have raised more for these charities it turns out that Justgiving do not allow you to redirect funding to alternate charities in this way! Stating this Cancer Research UK was always my number one charity for my marathon run. Thus far I have managed to raise £3,126.96 for them... This making an overall total of £3,316.96, awesome! Thanks again, I couldn't have done this without you all ;-)
As you all know I came in at 4:29:21, a bit slower than my planned run of 3:45, this is certainly due to the heat. Stating this I completely enjoyed the day, so much fun, so many runners! I have to thank everyone that has sponsored me, thank you all so much, this is what all the months of training and injury have been for.
For those unaware my dad is currently having a bit of a battle with cancer, stating this, as we all know it can be beaten, we are all remaining optimistic. Thus far I've raised over £2,000 for charity, furthering sponsorship I've also cut off all my hair (mohawk style) to help raise further awareness of my efforts.... the charity is number one here as cancer unfortunately affects one in three of us in our lives!
Further to this a percentage of sponsorship over £2,000 (dependent on the overall total) will also go to Blesma and Erskine (charities for limbless ex-servicemen and women)...
