Story
There'll be a merry band of us cycling the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 mile challenge on 2nd August 2015 in memory of my pal's little girl, Olive Martin. It's my first ever attempt at something like this and having been retired from sport for the best part of a decade, these old saggy muscles will be pained at the sheer scale of the task not to mention the poor training preparation.
I had the honour and yet heart wrenching experience of visiting Olive at Great Ormond Street with Paul. I'm sure that as most of you can imagine, it was a heartbreaking time for Paul, Clare and all their friends and family. With this fundraising, we hope to help and support others who may face similar circumstances in the future.
Any donation will be very gratefully received, I promise to buy the drinks the next time we meet : )
The event. Celebrating the legacy for cycling created by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 starts in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, then follows a 100-mile route on closed roads through the capital and into Surrey’s stunning countryside, finishing on The Mall in central London. With leg-testing climbs and a route made famous by the world’s best cyclists at the London 2012 Olympics, it's a truly spectacular event for all involved.
