Story
Most of us know someone who has been affected by cancer.
For me, it was my mum, Linda. She passed away in 2019 after battling lung and liver cancer for 9 months.
She was diagnosed in January that year, and we feared the worst when she was given only weeks to live.
Thanks to the specialists at Clatterbridge, she had chemotherapy that gave us months with her that we never thought we'd have.
In that time, she went from being wheelchair-bound to living independently again - never once losing her sense of humour or zest for life.
On 26 March, I'm running to raise money for Clatterbridge so that other folks can get to enjoy extra time with their loved ones too.
And I'm running for my mum, who always used to watch me run, red-faced doing 5k round Sefton Park! She always told me if I wanted to get better, to just keep going.
I know times are hard, but this is one way we can do our bit to help look after those people who are dealt a bad hand and have to deal with cancer.
