The Motor Neurone Disease Association of WA is the specialist care and support organisation for people living with Motor Neurone Disease and their families in Western Australia. MNDAWA provides an MND Advisory Service, Support Groups, Education, Equipment and Specialised Funding to families living with MND. We are committed to providing the best possible care and support to enable people living with MND to have the highest quality of life.

Story

Darren is now free from Motor Neurone Disease. The "Community of Darren" (comprising his wife Kirsten, all his family, friends, staff and colleagues) do not want his death to be in vain, and so to give it some meaning we will be fundraising on an ongoing basis to support research and other families going through their own battle with MND.
The loss of Darren left a huge hole in the lives of all who knew and loved him. His friend and staff member Margaret Hitching started us off with an amazing bike ride from Perth to our home town Busselton to commemorate his life, and at the same time raise money for research and to help others suffering this dreadful disease. This was as we hoped just the first of many different fundraising activities, helping to ensure his memory lives on and we continue his life's journey, whilst helping others in their journey with MND..
"Darren's Ride" is symbolic of and in celebration of Darren's ride through life. He loved to ride a bike, and get out on a wave riding his beloved surfboard. He had a fantastic ride!
We hope you will get on board Darren's Ride with us and give in any way you can to support this very worthy cause.
